Our combined years of experience to ensure your pets quality care.
The Purple Shih Tzu is a Resort and Day Spa located in Burleson, Texas. We started our love for dogs in the world of dog shows and Sporting events as exhibitors. There we learned breed standard grooming for competitions. Over the years we learned the best products and tools to use to promote healthy quality coat care. In 2001, we became certified pet/show stylists and professional dog show handlers. We take pride in having extensive years of experience in training canines in agility, rally, conformation, and barn hunting. We’ve worked with and titled both rescue and purebred dogs in competition sports, as well as CGC, CGCA titles.
We want our clients to know we only want the best for their pets. Our stylists are certified and are required to attend continuing education seminars to keep their grooming certifications up to date. We want our stylists to be knowledgeable in skin and coat care for pets who attain our services.

Christine Tuck
Christine Tuck
Christine started showing dogs when she was in fifth grade, showing Afghan Hounds and Salukis with the breeder of her mom’s dogs. This was when she learned to groom for dog shows and developed her handling skills. Over the years, she grew up working with various dog breeds, including cross-bred dogs.
In 2011, Christine went to grooming school to get certified and work professionally. The following year, she obtained her handler agent number, allowing her to show dogs professionally. Through the years, she has shown and competed in dog sports, such as Confirmation, Obedience, Rally, Agility, and Barn Hunting.
Christine continues to show dogs and do pet/show styling. She also attends annual seminars to stay updated about new trends and techniques for pet styling. She also is continuing her education for handling and dog training certifications through the Victoria Stillwell Academy. Her goals are to mentor grooming students to improve their knowledge in skin and coat care and proper, safe, and positive dog handling.
Andrea Landers
Andrea Landers
Andrea grew up in the dog show world, with her mom being a groomer and professional handler. She learned how to groom different types of coats and handle all dog sizes. At 7 years old, she started showing dogs as a junior handler at UKC shows. When she was old enough, she also started showing in juniors at AKC shows with her chihuahua, Titan.
Andrea had also shown Titan in regular classes against professional handlers, winning against them. She and Titan achieved Champion status when she was 9 years old and his Grand Champion status when she was 14 years old. She also placed a rally novice title on her American Staffordshire Terrier Jeno at The Staffordshire Terrier Club of America Nationals in 2013.
She has helped her mom as a backup handler for client and personal dogs that they show. She has also won multiple Best in Junior Handler awards.
Xitlali Rosales
Xitlali Rosales
Xitlali got her first dog at 5 years old, and this was the dog who gave her the passion to help dogs in any way possible. She started grooming in 2017 at Animal Behavior College. Her first grooms were shaving down matted dogs, and she worked her way up to breed standard grooms.
She continued her education on product, skin, and coat care with Christine as her mentor. She aims to become a professional pet stylist and not just a pet groomer. She attends yearly seminars to keep her certifications up to date and to learn different breed styles. She would also like to learn about competitive grooming and compete in dog shows with her Miniature Poodle.
